SUMMER FUN

Alright, so I, the Blue Colossus, have been trapped in a far away land for quite some time with barely any money, a Nintendo Wii, and a weak computer, so gaming has been lacking. However, I figured since the summer was coming to a close I would mention the few games I did get to play, all of them Wii games. Let's see if I can remember them all...

1. Order Up

This is a pretty good little cooking game, on a scale of 1-10 I give it a B. You start off training at a little burger joint, I think it's called Burger Face. Then you find your own little place and open your own store. As you get more money you can upgrade your equipment, kitchen staff, and eventually buy a new better restaurant. As the game progresses nothing really happens. You get a new restaurant with new menu items, but the cooking process is the same and it only gets a little bit more difficult all the way to the end. Even at the final restaurant you still get the same hillbilly patrons you had at the first little diner you ran. It is also very short, you can probably comfortably complete it in five hours. And after reading this review I'm going to change my score to a C+.

2. Endless Ocean

Alright, so I've only logged like an hour into this game, but so far it's been exactly like I thought it would. You swim in the ocean and find fish and learn more about them, log them into your encyclopedia, and move onto the next one. The graphics are quite good, I'd compare them to a medium quality 360 game on standard def tv. The controls are pretty fluid and the girl diving instructor is very boneable. There are also quite a few secret areas that you can unlock, so have fun with all that. I'll give it a 7, maybe a 7 and a half. Oh and they could have hired some voice actors, there's only two characters.

3. Mario Kart

It's Mario Kart, for the Wii, and they didn't do too much different except the whole control scheme. The tracks come from other Mario Kart games so you have all the good ones, Rainbow Road, Bowser's Dungeon, Moo Moo Meadows, Mario Circuit, etc etc...For every Nintendo system there has to be a Mario Kart. Luckily they do well on each one and this one is no different, it gets a 9 in my book. Controls are good, graphics are good, tracks are good, characters and vehicles are good, music is good.

4. Wii Fit

I don't care what anyone says, Wii Fit works. If you do the exercises right and don't cheat them you can work up a real sweat. I do it for 25 minutes a day and I feel like a 20 year old again. So let's catch you up. Wii Fit has strength exercises, yoga, balance games, and aerobics. The aerobics games are superfluous unless you are stuck in a small bomb shelter, then by all means run in place. The balance games are okay, you can ski, hit soccer balls, tight-rope walk, float in a bubble...The yoga really gives your spine a good stretching and the strength training can make you not as flabby. For what it was trying to do and accomplished I give it a 9.

So there are probably a couple of other games that I played and forgot to mention. Those four are good though, so go out and play them. Wii Fit is hard to find though, so for you fatties you might have to wait to lose those pounds.

Remember when I told you that Don King's Prizefighter would be terrible a couple months before it came out? I was right on the money. Bad control scheme, plenty of phantom punches, and shots to the shoulder knock people clean out.

Can't wait to reattain my gamertag, play Madden, and destroy everyone in Halo alongside my compadre Doctor Umbrella. Who knows, you may see us partake in another Halo 3 marathon. And we're all real excited for Gears of War 2. I'm getting it the midnight it comes out and aiming for the top of the leaderboards until GOW3 hits the markets. Sadly however I don't think they addressed the prevalent host problem, so be looking for Righteous Ice to have 60 kills and everyone else to have 10.

And I love this video...
